6in60s: Tech in Asia Conference 2019

I need to look straight at the camera? It was like, sixty-eight seconds? Am I looking right? Okay? Rolling? Hi, my name is Tessa. Hi, I’m Vinnie Lauria. Hi, I’m Shiyan Koh. Hello, I’m Moses. Hi, my name is Dian Rosanti. Hello, my name is Maria Li. My name is Santitarn Sathirathai. This is 6in60s. Where I’m going to answer 6 questions  in 60 seconds at the Tech in Asia conference. So here we go! I’m reading a translation of The Odyssey. It’s the first female translator of The Odyssey that has been done in the thousand years since The Odyssey has been written. I’m reading the Beastie Boys book. It is the full anthology of how they got started, 1980s New York City, it’s a fun read. I’m watching The Good Place. It’s a brilliant funny show. It’s actually a sitcom but it weaves in a ton of philosophical stuff which I absolutely love. I am reading The Sixth Man, which is the memoir by NBA player Andre Iguodala and I am starting the first season of Peaky Blinders. Everything you want is on the other side of fear. And that always helps me find the courage to move past things that I am terrified of. Unless it’s a great white shark. The best advice I’ve enjoyed are ones that have changed my mindset and paradigms. I think it’s really like, life is long but, you know, the world is small. So treat people accordingly. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. So I’m actually going to give you 2 answers for 1 question. This is now 7 in 60 seconds. First is: jump, and the net will appear. I just jump without even thinking and then realize I will be safe when I land. The other is what my dad told me when I was a kid. He told me to always be humble. You can do whatever you put your mind to. And to never be too good to do whatever it takes to succeed. Haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate. Being boring. Being a waste of space! It’s the fear itself. Heights and falling down. Will I still be able to be COO? I don’t know. Great white shark. I went cage diving with them once in South Africa. Almost lost my mind. So I do a lot of rock climbing, because exposure therapy works. My greatest fear is that we don’t execute well. Is being too afraid to try new things. I think boring is like totally forgettable. So that’s, that’s not what I wanna do. Take risks. You have to listen to your gut and take in as much advice as you can. Try to think about what is truly valuable. Build something people want. Always listen to your customer. The minute you lose touch, you lose out to the competition. Stay committed, be humble, and always be ready to adapt. I would love to be a backup dancer for like, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B. Starting another business. Hopefully in something to do with the environment or education. I like working with optimists and that’s what entrepreneurs are. That was being pitched at a urinal. Never do that. That’s 60 seconds. That was not 60 seconds. Thank you watching … for watching 60 in … 6 in 6. Thanks for watching, 6in60s.
