Coronavirus: Trump declares national emergency but denies responsibility for any failings

To unleash the full power of the
federal government in this effort today, I am officially declaring a
national emergency. Two very big words. The action I am taking will open up
access to up to 50 billion dollars of … Very importantly, very important … And a large amount of money
for states and territories and localities in our shared fight
against this disease. In furtherance of the order, I’m urging,
every state to set up emergency operation centres effective immediately. I’m also asking every hospital in this
country to activate its emergency preparedness plan
so that they can meet the needs of Americans everywhere. Using federal emergency authorities,
the FDA approved a new test for the virus. We did this within hours after receiving
the application from Roche, a process that would normally take weeks. We therefore expect up to a half a million
additional tests will be available early next week. At the same time, we’ve been in
discussions with pharmacies and retailers to make drive through tests
available in the critical locations identified by public health professionals. The goal is for individuals to be able
to drive up and be swabbed without having to leave your car. And this will pass. This will pass through and we’re going
to be even stronger for it.

  1. Its so heavy for him cause a lot of money is being released! Damn Trump, we the people needs testing and we dont care how much money will be spent! We need this and even if youre worried about the budget! We gotta do how the Asian counterparts are doing.

  2. stop talking do whats right they spend trillions of dollars for Wars overseas in other countries. so step up and pay another trillion dollars to protect your Americans from this vicious virus 50 billion wont cut it please if your out of money start a go fund me Americans will pay we always do.

  3. I'm making a compilation of trumps most stupid moments. Can you actually believe my computer ran out of editing memory power because it just keeps adding up every day?

  4. Trump has gone from the Corona virus is nothing to declaring a National emergency in a week. Never has a person been so unqualified to hold public office.. Why won't someone take charge…US citizens will die from his incompetence.

  5. He goes from playing down the crisis to using it as an opportunity to blame his economic rivals (in his head) China and Europe for the virus .
And as usual some SANE person finally gets him to change his position on the seriousness of the situation by tricking him (the world's greatest fool) into the idea that taking action might help his election campaign.
And then, and only then does he do something because he sees something in it for himself.
The republicans resist public health care full stop and here he is finally using a Bernie Sanders approach of putting people's health first.
An endorsement for Sanders full stop.

  6. Corona virus was first discovered in Saudi arabia in 2012 …but only 2 died 74 were infected but the virus shut down because of heat. Fact.

  7. Of all the 200 countries in the world, USA is the last I would expect to display such ridiculous level of complacency, arrogance, disregard, and incompetency as late as 2 months into the outbreak. Unbelievable. I pray for you guys.

  8. Trump the fairy tale uncle. The best healthcare system in the world is probably somewhere else. There are twice as many cases in Germany but only a fifth as many deaths. US has factor 10 more, daily raising. Trump systematically runs the healthcare system into ruin. And that all for the money. Google-Experts will further watch the numbers: Sick people, dead people, uninsured people, costs.

  9. Can't listen to him. I'm not anti trump but as a brit I really don't see what's appealing about him? He's just not intelligent is he

  10. When the country is in crisis, we don't need a leader reading and being reactive. We need blunt honesty. Lives are at stake, both red and blue. He needs to ask us, the citizens to work together and for each other to get past this. America and its leader should be a role model for the world. Americans have always responded when crisis confronts us. This is time for Trump's outsider approach to get politicians to get things done. It appears our politicians are the ones setting an example for him. Never thought that would happen.

  11. STAGE 1: Nothing is going to happen.
STAGE 2: Something is going to happen but we should do nothing about it.
STAGE 3: We should do something about it, but there is nothing we can do.
STAGE 4: Maybe there was something we could have done, but I'm not responsible

  15. Trump declares national emergency but 'no responsibility' ?
Remember when Hitler thought he was not accountable so long as he never signed any policies ?

  16. Remember when the subject first came up, claiming that 2.5 Billion was adequate to fight this pandemic and was shocked when both the Democrat & Republican parties demanded more than $8 billion? Now, when is he going to attempt to take some of that money to put toward his "wall"?

  17. All of the CEOs said, "we are working quickly to get the tests ON THE MARKET"!!! As usual, profit before health concerns for the American people.

  18. Wait… isn't this the same orange man who downplayed the severity of the situation?

Sucks to put your foot in your mouth, doesn't it?

  20. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. There is no national leader in the world who will come out of this situation unscathed. It's times like this I really wish it was Democrats in the hot seat. Of course, we'd ALL die if they actually were. Dems are incompetent to handle even an outbreak of acne. All they can do is point fingers and blame everyone else. Coming up with actual solutions just isn't their thing.

  23. This virus is not President Trump's fault! No one saw this coming! You think Biden would have done better? The DNC wants Biden for the nominee, bcuz he would be there puppet! And the DNC will pick who his VP will be.Biden clearly is in the early stages of Dementia/Alzheimers! And he is not for us African Americans! I am a Young African American, and Trump has my vote 2020.
