Within the structural funds, there are other funds which are precisely those of the European Economic Area, on which there is an agreement between the European Union and the EFTA countries (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland). Switzerland is also included but is not contributing anything on this occasion. Spain has been a beneficiary of these funds since 1994 and we are very grateful to receive them. They amount to approximately 42 million (in the last period they also came to 42 million for 20 specific projects), and the 6 programmes, in which this project is included, are currently launched and operating. Although, in terms of amount, this economic contribution might not be very significant, it is important on a local and sectoral level and of course in terms of bilateral relations.
This promotion of the Preservation and Rehabilitation of the Spanish Natural and Cultural Heritage in the new programming period 2014-2020 is going to be maintained, not with funds from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein as in the last period, but with structural funds from the European Union.
