Vejle is one of the 100 Resilient Cities in the world and this is also this session’s theme: resilience. Resilience is about being able to survive, adapt and grow no matter what challenges you face, so it’s basically a matter of being able to work across sectors and communities and even borders to find new innovative solutions for some of the challenges that this world is facing. Resilience is a very important topic, especially to our city. We wanted to bring this up and talk about resilience, because it is of so high importance for us, for the community. Yes, in small communities, you have the opportunity to actually sit down in smaller groups of people and figure out a solution and I think that it’s great that they are supporting something like EYP because young people also have a say in this. If there’s going to be climate change, we’re going to live with it in the future so I think it’s really important to actually include young people in the decision. Young people are the future of this world and they are the ones that will build the future and live the future, and if they are already now interested in how we can find new solutions and how we can work in a resilient way to improve this world, then I have great hopes for the future.
