Segundo Taller Regional: Proyecto Piloto para Marcos de Resultados LAC


MESOAMERICA INTEGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT PILOT PROJECT FOR STRENGTHENING THE USE OF RESULTS FRAMEWORKS The Executive Directorate of the Mesoamerica
Integration and Development Project organized, in conjunction with the Ministry of Economy
and Finance of Panama, the Second Regional Workshop of the Pilot Project for Strengthening
the Use of Results Frameworks, which contributes to the development of capacities and shares
knowledge, experiences and good practices for effectively linking planning and budgeting. This workshop is part of the Global Initiative
on Results and Mutual Accountability (GPI) of the Global Alliance for Development Cooperation
Effectiveness (GPEDC). The Initiative launched the Pilot Project
in 18 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. In the Latin American region, the Project
is being implemented by the Mesoamerica Integration and Development Project with the
participation of Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the Dominican Republic, with support
from Mexico. Peru and Paraguay also requested the GPI to
be part of this Pilot Project. PROGRESS IN THE LATIN AMERICA REGION Pilot Project milestones in its 9 months of implementation: 1. Compilation of planning and budgeting processes
of the participating LAC countries, through a survey sent by the Executive Directorate
of the Mesoamerica Platform. 2. Official Launch and First Regional
Workshop in El Salvador on June 2016 took place. Dialogues and exchanges between participating
countries were summarized in key recommendations for strengthening planning and budgeting in
the region. 3. Preparation of successful planning and budgeting
cases within the participating countries. 4. Key Messages prepared by the Interregional
Committee with inputs of the cases from Latin America, Asia and Africa, which were presented by the
Global Partnership Initiative on Results at the Second High Level Meeting of the Global Partnership
for Effective Development Cooperation celebrated in Nairobi, Kenya, on November 2016. 5. The Executive Directorate of the Mesoamerica
Platform requested resources to Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) to coordinate that the delegates from the Pilot Project participating countries in the region could attend the Second-High
Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation celebrated
in Nairobi, Kenya, on November 2016. This delegation was integrated by Guatemala,
Panama and Paraguay. 6. In this first quarter of 2017, an illustrative
module on Integrated National Financing Frameworks was prepared and circulated to participating
delegates to gather comments and observations to the contents. This Module includes excerpts from the case studies and survey responded by the countries. We have iniciated steps to a road map for
