Take me to Regions: Jamal’s Story

Take me to Regions: Jamal’s Story

We all face trials and tribulations
and we all get knocked down but it’s about getting up after you get knocked down. The winners are the ones who move forward in life. I was born with a condition known as tetralogy of fallot. I had two heart procedures before the age of one so it’s been affecting me throughout all my life. In school I couldn’t keep up with some the kids physically, but I was always intelligent so I had
that part working for me. I’m very passionate about music. Writing music helps me get through a lot of tough issues. Earlier this year I was pursuing a music
business degree and after a long period time of not visiting a doctor I realized I had a lot of chest pain. I had a hard time breathing and that’s
when I went to Regions Hospital and their Heart Center. We decided that it was a good thing to go ahead and have surgery. When Jamal came to us we discover that in the past he had a condition called
tetralogy of fallot of a very severe type. Here at Regions Hospital we have a vast number cardiologists who are very comfortable dealing with congenital heart disease, such as the type that Jamal had and he had a very nice surgical outcome. I’m very thankful that I want to Regions
and met with Dr. Katie Moriarty and Dr. Kroshus and everybody in cardiac surgery and rehabilitation. There are all very informative, all very helpful for me to get back to living my life and pursuing the things that I want to pursue. [Singing] Baby boy here draft full of mad passion complications made it hard made it…[End singing]. Now that I’m back on the right path, I plan on attending one of the most
prestigious music schools in the state of Minnesota. My experience at Regions Hospital
was really great. They took very good care me and they were encouraging as to get back to rehabilitation. That’s the
best way to get back to good health. My name is Jamal and I’m glad I said, “Take me to Regions.”
